Indoor air quality monitoring for offices during renovation work

Paris’ iconic Bourse du Commerce building was undergoing renovation to house an art collection, offices of a VIP personality, an open terrace and a panoramic restaurant.
During the renovation works, the client needed an indoor air quality monitor, where UBY stepped in.

Challenges
The end customer was bothered by a persistent odour in one of the newly renovated offices and could not determine the origin or cause.
Need: indoor air quality and odour monitoring
Our solution
A POD sensor was installed in the office in question and after a one-week training period, we were able to detect the odor variation.
The generated readings on our platform uMonitor allowed us to visualize in time the evolution of this odour variation associated with a formaldehyde peak in the air and to correlate it to the ventilation.
We could trace the fact that the ventilation ducts had been cleaned with a product containing this chemical compound.
